Taylor Swift, real name Taylor Alison Swift, (born December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania, USA) is an American pop and country singer-songwriter whose stories about heartbreaking teenagers became widespread in the early 2000s were hits.
Early Life
Swift became interested in music at a young age and quickly progressed from roles in children's theater to her first performance in front of thousands of people. . A development deal with RCA Records brought Swift together with record industry veterans, and in 2004, at the age of 14, she signed to Sony/ATV as a songwriter.She performed many of the songs she wrote at venues around Nashville and was spotted at one such performance by CEO Scott Borchetta. Borchetta signed Swift to his fledgling Big Machine label, and in the summer of 2006 her debut single "Tim McGraw" (inspired by Swift's favorite country artist and an explicit nod to a song by Swift's favorite country artist) was released.
